DIETARY SERVICES
The goal of the Food Services Department and the
Kirkland & District Hospital
is to obtain and enhance optimum nutritional status of patients and personnel of
the hospital. Besides operating a food service system, we also provide nutrition
consultation and educational services for in-patients, out patients, hospital personnel
and some community groups and agencies.
Over 500 visits are made to the registered dietitian each year by out-patients seeking
nutritional counseling. In-patients are regularly visited by Food Services Supervisors,
as well as the dietitian when required. By year's end, the 33 food services employees
have produced over 150,000 meals and washed 1.5 million dishes.
